Hunting take place in a well-organized manner. All hunting will be under the supervision of a professional hunter and his team.

Hunting takes place in a well-organized manner and under the supervision of a Professional Hunter and his staff.

The Driven Hunt (“Voorsitjag”) and Walk & Stalk hunting methods are used.

LOCATION:


Travelling from Cape Town on the N1:

40 km from Beaufort West (Johannesburg side), turn right to Nelspoort. After 10 km, turn right towards Nelspoort/Murraysburg. Just across the railway line, turn right onto the Aberdeen road. Travel for 17 km to the Baakensrug entrance. Turn left and travel for 10 km to the lodge.


Travelling from Johannesburg on the N1:

16 km from Three Sisters (Beaufort West Side), turn left towards Nelspoort. After 10 km, turn left towards Nelspoort/Murraysburg. Just across the railway line, turn right onto the Aberdeen road. Travel for 17 km to the Baakensrug entrance. Turn left and travel for 10 km to the lodge.

     Hunting:


  • Hunting fees are R640 per hunter per day.


  • Minimum stay of 3 nights and 2 hunting days.


  • Minimum fees to be charged will be R640/day x 2 days x 8 = R10 240.


  • A minimum of 8 rifles and 8 hunters in the hunting group.


  • Any Person climbing on board the vehicle, will be charged a fee.


  • Only one animal species will be hunted per day, unless otherwise arranged.


  • Most hunts will take place on Baakensrug. Hunts on other farms will not be further than 85 km from Baakensrug.


  • Hunters could be expected to use own transport to travel to other farms.


  • Springbuck driven hunts commence at 9am and end at approximately 4pm.


  • Kudu hunts commence at sunrise; other big game hunts will be arranged.


  • A guide is provided for Walk & Stalk hunting.


  • Hunters, guides, the men on motorbikes, horse riders and vehicles all get two-way radios.


  • Night drives are charged at R7/km plus R200 for the driver and staff.


  • A 100m shooting range is available with targets.


  • We have a fully equipped butchery, and we do complete meat processing on the farm with a Blockman.


  • The group will be held responsible for wounded animals.


  • Indemnity forms to be signed by all hunters and non-hunters.


  • All hunting takes place at the hunter’s own risk.


  • All hunters must have a valid hunting license.


 ** No alcohol allowed in the veld! **

     Hunter's Lodge:


  • Accommodation fees are R700 per person per night.


  • Minimum fees to be charged will be R700/night x 3 nights x 8 = R16 800.


  • The lodge has been rebuilt and completely renovated in 2021.


  • The lodge can accommodate 17 people:


  • 1 Room with 2 single beds
  • 1 Room with 3 single beds
  • 3 Rooms with 4 single beds each
  • Each room has its own en suite bathroom


  • All bedding and towels are supplied.


  • A garden cottage adjacent to the main house (70m from the lodge) has 3 single beds and an en suite bathroom, ie accommodation can be provided for a total of 20 people.


  • Eskom Electricity (Plus a backup generator and battery).


  • Fully equipped kitchen in the lodge.


  • Braai, cooking and campfire facilities.


  • Big new entertainment area!


  • Fridge and cooling facilities (6 m container plus a freezer room)


  • Free Wi Fi


  • DSTV


  • Wood (2 Bags per night Free; extra wood at R80 per big bag)


  • House and Camp servants are provided


  • Ice is provided


      Catering:

     

      Full catering: R460 per person per night (Includes coffee, tea & juice).

      (Please note, should you opt for catering, we then cater for the entire duration of your stay)

     

      Braaipacks: R300 per pack (Includes a starter, meat to braai or cook and fresh farm bread)

     

      Farmhouse Breakfast: R105 per person

     

      Lunch Box for the veld: R90 per person (Top quality!)

Deposit: R10 000/ Group (One payment to be done for the group. The deposit reference must show the hunting date and the name of the group). No cash deposits please!

Cancellation Policy:


More than 29 days before date of arrival : We retain 50% of the deposit.

15 – 28 days before date of arrival : We retain 75% of the deposit.

0 – 14 days before date of arrival : We retain the full deposit.
